The captain swung the boat around the end of the bay so we could get a really good look at everything. I switched lenses and used my telescopic lens to get better close-up shots. We were lucky to have blue sky as well.
Lovely mountain peak.
Melting ice and waterfalls.
Blue ice cracks and rumbles like thunder.
My first official bird shot!
A chunk of ice hit the water (calving).
And then we sailed to College Fjord.

Wow! The colour of that ice is beautiful - untouched. What a fantastic experience.
More great shots, Loren. Looking at these I realize how much better the digital camera does than the film or maybe it is the photographer. Maybe I'll need to go back to Glacier Bay.
Brrrrr che freddo...
Bellissime foto di ghiaccio.
A quanti gradi siamo ?
Buona giornata :-))
Beautiful shots of Glacier bay! It is a gorgeous and amazing place!
Beautiful close-ups of Glacier Bay, Loran... How gorgeous... My son worked on a small cruise boat when he was in Alaska and his boat was small enough to really get up close and personal.
That is such a magnificent place... Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy
Thank you for the wonderful posts on your cruise up the Inside Passage. Your photos are beautiful. It is a trip I did 35 years ago on Alaska State Ferry and look forward to doing in the fall this year. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Smiles
Cool shots of all the ice, especially with the blue sky to accent the white.
