My great-grandmother

This is Catherine Little Turney.  I think we would have enjoyed each other's company.  She kept a photo journal and did genealogy on the family clear back to the 1400's in France.  When my grandfather was born, my great-grandfather, Merrell Turney, gave her a beautiful diamond ring set in platinum.  I am wearing it now.  My mother gave it to me when I got my masters degree in Counseling, it's 110 years old. Somehow this gives me a feeling of continuity.

I think it is important to honor the memory of those who came before. They made our lives possible.

What a beautiful lady, Loran. I'll bet you and your great-grandmother would have alot in common. Glad you had a part of her to wear everyday... That is just so special...

Thanks for sharing. You know how much I love Family History.

Wow, what beautiful photos! I sketched my Great Grandmother many years ago. Unfortunately I lost my entire portfolio to water damage about 10 years ago. But I still remember her just as I sketched her. Guard your treasures!
