May Storm

Yes, that's snow on the wood shop roof and on the ground.  In May.  At least we aren't having tornadoes.

"Don't knock the weather: nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation
if it didn't change once in a while."
-   Kin Hubbard

The weather has definitely been a topic of conversation along with politics, oil spills and plane crashes.  It's easy to get sucked into the vortex of negativity and fear.  The challenge, then, is how to combat it.

How do you cope with the stresses in your life?  One of my tools is practicing an attitude of gratitude.  By nature I tend to see the glass half empty but when I turn it around I can see the same glass half full.  Having a grateful attitude and a heart full of love helps me to stay out of the dark well of depression and anxiety.  It's a choice, always a choice.

Choose wisely today my friends.

I choose to look on the bright side of Life, it sure beats the alternative.
We had snow flurries yesterday but they didn't stick and the snow piles are melting.

We had an unexpected 5 inches of snow last week, but we need the moisture in any form we can get it so we welcomed it.
I LOVE the quote!

I like to stay out of the dirt, too! I'll be glad when the wild spring storms are over. It actually snowed dirt here yesterday. The sky was dirty from the wind/dust storm, so it came down on us in the snow. Everyone's windows are looking pretty bad!

We had lots of heavy rain yesterday. Looking on the glass half full side I'd say the grass will be really green. It's supposed to be in the 70's by the weekend though, awesome. Yes, I like to try to look on the bright side too. Definitely beats the alternative.

As far as the weather goes here today it's easy to have a light heart -- well, as long as I don't listen to a lot of the news from around the world! I, too, try to practice an attitude of gratitude and that works well for me although as always there are those times when it is a little more difficult. But I can always use your reminder that it is always a choice. And thanks for that reminder this morning. Have a wonderful day, Loran!

I try to take the weather in stride, but I'm not sure I could be calm about snow in May. Your picture is beautifully dramatic, however.

Yes, the weather is useful for conversation, if nothing else. We're having rain here, and it's lovely. I enjoy listening to thunder and raindrops.
A positive attitude is the best friend we have when it comes to dealing with stress. I've always found it comes in handy.

Trying to keep a positive attitude is what I try to do in my blog---and in my life. But---we all are human and the 'bad' creeps in at times. Oh Well... It's also how we handle the BAD too....

I think I was a weather person in another life since I have always been fascinated with the weather.... But--it is always something to talk about, isn't it???? SNOW?????? Yipes!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Absolutely love this snow scene. My motto is pretty much, "the worse the weather, the better the photography will be." Am going through some challenges in life myself ... That said, hearing about people dying or losing their homes from tornadoes really makes me appreciate what I have. Thank you for sharing, too.

My wife, bless her heart, gets so irritated at me because I'm always optimistic. Of course, I've been very blessed and that helps.

An attitude of gratitude is something I definitely need to cultivate though.
