Outside Phoenix, Arizona

Last week my husband went to Phoenix for continuing education.  He visited his cousin Ken who took this amazing picture of the desert in bloom.  Thanks, Ken!

I'm headed to Salt Lake City today to bring my daughter home from her first year of college. I was sad when she left.  I'll be happy to have her home for the summer.  Then she'll leave again.

As Robert Frost said:

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life:  It goes on."

What a gorgeous photo, Loran! Love the yellow everywhere! I know you'll be so happy to have your daughter at home for the summer -- and you're right, then they leave again and Frost's words are so very true! Have a safe trip and ENJOY!

Enjoy your time with your daughter - they grow up and then can't come home as often!

Living in SoCal all of my life, I am very used to desert living. Most of the year, the desert is just a hot ugly place but in the spring when it blooms, it can be one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Beautiful photograph. I forget how colorful the desert can be with just a little water.

There is something very special about the desert in bloom! I have certainly savored this spring in our own desert areas in California! This is a beautiful photo!

what are the yellow flowers? I have no idea, you see!

How quickly the year has gone. My son is just in his last couple of weeks of the university year, then he's going to Spain for a holiday in the sun with his flatmate for next year, whose family lives in Spain. After that he'll arrive home for the summer.

Gorgeous--my desert visit timing is always off, never caught the bloom like this. Good luck to your daughter (and you!) for her college years--Mrs R & I are heading to Boston this week for daughter Emily's graduation.
