Nature's Frames

George Eliot said, "If we had a keen vision and feeling of all ordinary human life, it would be like hearing the grass grow and the squirrel's heartbeat, and we should die of that roar which lies on the other side of silence."

Wouldn't it be something to experience the natural world so intensely that we could hear the roar on the other side of silence?

I love walking around my neighborhood, especially now that most of the snow is gone.  Little green shoots are sprouting out of the ground, the birds are singing and life is beginning anew.  Spring energy is hopeful, gentle at times, joyful, and a welcome relief after a long winter.  Always.

I love this time of year, too--it's the prettiest time of year here in the California foothills. I don't love all the pollen in the air, but the beauty of spring makes up for it!

Beautiful words and images, Loran. I love your header too. Have a great weekend, wandering around your neighbourhood. I'm about to take binoculars and camera and walk along the lanes in our camp. Blessings and (((hugs))) Jo

I like looking at the sky through trees. It makes that vast expanse less intimidating!

SKY DITTY

Hey, my little pretty,
Sing a sky ditty,
Sing about the stars and the sun.

Hey, my little pretty,
Sing a night ditty,
Sing it when the day is all done.

Nature's frames - a great reminder to look for the artistry that's already there.

I love spring, and when it first arrives after months of snow, it almost does seem like we're hearing the grass grow!
The leafy frame in the first photo is a great way to view the sky.
