Spud and Domino

Llamas come running when it's time for breakfast.  They eat grass hay and occasionally some oats.    They like to graze in the summer but during the winter they depend on us.

Shadow Shot Sunday has an interesting array of subjects in shadow.

Cool shot, I once had a yellow Lab named 'Spud', how funny is that!

I am trying to imagine having llamas come running to me! I don't know if I'd be thrilled or terrified. Well, I know they can't really hurt me, but it's the spitting I heard about...
What fun!
Happy SSS!

The winter shadows of the Green Mountains are stunning. The brilliance of the snow is tempered by the lengthy shadow. The llamas are of two minds, stay sun-blind and warm in the sun or cool down on a cold day under the canopy of the shadow. Nice looking animals, gorgeous landscape!

I know that Llama's are old news by now but I love them when I come upon them at the state fair or once on a trail in Colorado. They are just so cool.

Great post - we must take care of those animals we chose to have in our care.

We passed some llamas on the way from Brisbane to Sydney yesterday and they looked so content surveying all before them. Love your shot.

Somehow, Llamas always seem like such cuddly creatures. It must be their soft fur and sweet faces!
