Scrapbook Moments

Right after I took this shot, my daughter turned to me with a tear-stained face and asked,
"Why is my sister so mean to me?"

OK, listen up!  This is my FICTIONAL submission to Microfiction Monday, but only a step removed from when my two daughters were little.  Who never had a sibling who made you cry?

There's an excellent edge to this one.

So this is sortof fiction -- not true in this instance, but certainly could have been when the girls were little! I was the little blonde girl with the tears and question, so I TOTALLY get this! Well done!

I just took a book quiz that labeled me "realistic fiction" -- that sounds like what this is. :-)

It also could have been written about my boys, but thankfully they have ended up better friends as young adults.

Great take on it!

OMG Loran my sister is STILL mean to me! Aww, poor little kid. Nice story behind the photograph - when her back is turned we just don't know what she's feeling.

Looks like a good story to match that picture, Loran... I wish I had have had a sister.... I had two older brothers (who are both gone now) ---so I'd love it if I had a sister (even if she were mean to me, or even if I was mean to her).....

Hugs,
Betsy

too true in some homes, powerful twist. First time joining in, mine is at The Cafe if you care to visit.

Good story, and true to life (know my sister and I always seemed to be fighting about some trivial thing or other).

I can totally understand why this wee child is asking.

Oh - the wisdom of children! That does tug at your heart.

Oh I asked that one more than once myself as a child!

It sounds like something I heard when my children were little.

Thank goodness I don't have a sister to torment me, but, on the other hand, a sister would be a blessing.
