Pacific Ocean Sunset
I looked out the window of Joni's condo when I noticed the sky had started to change colors. I had to have at least good Pacific sunset series for Sky Watch! I took a brisk walk over to check it out.
A lot of birds like this lagoon.
I felt like I had hit the jackpot with the colorful setting sun, sky and watery reflections.
Someone else had a camera to record the moment.
Eventually the sun disappeared and the sky darkened.
I headed back to my sister's condo as the fog settled in and car lights shone in the distance.
I took one last look through the brush and admired nature's beauty, once again.
Oddly enough, behind me was the county fairgrounds and car races were being held! So, in spite of the fact that it was beautiful, it was also kind of noisy. You'd never guess from the tranquil scenes above.
Admire more skies from around the world at SkyWatch Friday.

A wonderful sunset indeed. I particularly like the afterglow with reflections. A pity about the background noise, but I am sure that faced with such beauty, you could cut it out.
Gorgeous shots! I agree with Arija, that lovely afterglow with reflections is wonderful. Like you, I could do without the noise, but it's sometimes hard to escape. I've been fortunate that it is generally very quiet down at harbor near us. Thanks for your visit, appreciate your comment.
Have a great weekend!

Wow Loran---Can you imagine living in a place like that and seeing the sunset EVERY night???? Don't think I'd ever tire of that sight??? AND--the one you took of the reflection is unusually gorgeous.
Hugs,
Betsy
I really love that first photo of the bunch. What a beautiful shot.

A great series, glad you went to explore and get them. I like the change of pace with the last two images.
No, I wouldn't have guessed about the noise in the background. These shots are so tranquil. I love the sun dipping into the sea.
Great series, the clouds were in the right spot and so were you.
I love orange skies
Such tranquil photos, I laughed when I read that there was a race going on in the background. It is a good thing we can separate our senses.
Some really lovely pics here. The standout for me is the one with the person. Love the one below it too...
Have a nice weekend.
Beautiful pictures of various sky sights. You did a really nice post for today.
Wow - what magnificent pictures!! :-)

ps. I love the quote in your banner...so true!!
Wonderful sunset, the colors are beautiful.
Yes, another vote for the afterglow shot as a favourite!
I would have imagined it was noisy from the sound of the birds, too bad it was the sound of racing engines.
Seem strange to see a sunset over the Pacific when we're used to seeing sunrises over it.

What a gift!! Gloriuos!!
Lucky for you that you could capture such a beautiful series of sunset photos. Thanks for sharing

Gorgeous sky shots. My favorite was the foggy shot.
Fantastic shots. They are just stunning. Thanks.
Very, very beautiful! No, I would never guess that it was a noisy place, but I think the glorious colors rose well above it all!
There is only one sky. I've seen "Skywatch" posts all over the blogosphere today, and every one is different......
Beautiful, serene sky... Definitively skywatch jackpot!
Beautiful shots. There's nothing like the orange glow of the sun over the ocean. Too bad about the noise.
I love that horizon line. So subtle!
You did hit the jackpot
Pretty sunset photos made more poignant by the fact it's the Pacific coast...now 1,500 miles away from my current home. SIGH.
Beautiful sunset! I was imagining such a peaceful, tranquil, silent scene. Sorry to hear there was background noise to compete with the serenity.
Definitely would I never guess all was not tranquil these pictures were taken. The 3rd from the last is especially soothing.
simply beautifully captured shots...lovely views!
Loran, what a wonderful sunset series. That lagoon is delightful. It is hard to believe that a race track is near by.
Great series. Nothing prettier than a sunset over the ocean.
Gorgeous shots. Like them all! And thanks for your comment! Irene :o)
