Spectacular SkyWatch Sunrise

The other morning I looked outside the window and then ran for my camera. These shots were taken quickly because it was so cold.

One last shot from inside my warm house.  Still, it was so cold that ice formed on the inside of the window!

And in honor of SkyWatch from John Muir:

"The grand show is eternal.  It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising.  Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."

Wonderful sunrise. There is something so special about sunrise, even more than sunset. Maybe it is the promise of an other day.

Yep living in Utah we have lots of extreme weather, and where you live--in the Uintah basin--you see a lot more of those extreme temps etc. than other places in Utah. Love your photos...great colors.
I visited Vernal two summers ago and was amazed at all the hanging baskets of purple petunia decorating your town. They were everywhere..all the way into vernal and out of your town...hung and taken care of by all the businesses. Bravo to your city fathers for their inspiring and dedicated beautification project...Now if I could only get Lehi to ramp up its beautification project with flowers...shesh.

Hey. Yes I do starp on cross country skies. But not when the snow is so deep. I used to compete in cross country several years ago.

Excellent shots you have posted. Well done.
Have a nice weekend.

Spectacular is definitely the word for your skywatch photos. Wow! Thank you so much for visiting and leaving your wonderful comments. I took a little stroll through your blog and loved it. I would like to visit again once I'm organized back in Chicago again.

These are really something. At first I thought the frost on the window was a foamy surf. What a great optical illusion.
