Remembering

Betsy inspired me to post this picture of my old car.  I bought it for $500 because it was the only car that started on the day I went car hunting and that was all I had to spend.  It's a 1963 Studebaker Lark and I loved it even though it was difficult to find parts for it.  I'm posing in my more fit and younger days somewhere in southeast Idaho.

Check out other nostalgic posts at Remember Whensday.

Wow that kinda looks like my first car, an '86 Chevette. Cool pic.

All the best

It's hard to look at the car when there's a beauty queen standing there.... Don't you know that if you still had that car, it would probably be worth ALOT these days.

My Dad had a Rambler once --and after he died, one of my brothers inherited it.. He finally sold it for a bunch of money because they didn't make Ramblers anymore... Remember them????

Thanks for posting this one --just for ME.
Hugs,
Betsy

Wow, you had a Lark? I hope you have it tucked away in an old barn somewhere. But is has probably gone the same way my first car ( a 1949 Ford pickup)went - to the junk pile. If only we could have them now. Great picture. Oh, to be young again.

I love it! What a great looking road car. Bet you wish you still owned it. My first car was 1964 Rambler. Thanks for sharing this.

My first car was a '63 Buick, it was as big a boat. I couldn't afford the gas to run it today! LOL

The purchase price of your Studebaker reminds me of the price of my very first car, a 1967 Rambler which I bought for $440 in 1973! It leaked oil like mad and the heater didn't work, but it got me to work my first year of teaching. Then I sold it for $400 in 1974 and bought a brand new Toyota Corona, which isn't made any more.

Terrific to get a car that ran for that little money! I never had a car until we got married, but the first one we bought was a AMC Hornet. First little car I owned and will never drive a big car again.

What a cute photo of you! Can't imagine you could get any kind of car that runs for $500 now.
