Lily pads on Sawmill Lake

Macro

Not macro

Two shots, same camera, same lens but different perspectives. So much of blogging is in the perspective too. "Which shot should I post?" "Which of the many shots I took of the same thing will look best?" Since I got back from vacation and have been frantically trying to catch up from two weeks out of town, my biggest question has been, "Now which order do I upload these in?" I've had to redo several posts because the order of the pictures was screwy. How can I tell a story when the pictures are out of order? Or blurry? Or dark? And then there is the writing required to tell the story.

The longer I blog the more impressed I am with the really excellent blogs out there. It is a lot of work and requires time I just don't have which means I'm often putting the post together at night when I'm tired and can't think straight. Can you tell? Or have I hidden it well?

To view more macro shots and perhaps answer fewer questions, check out Macro Monday!

both photos are great and it's strange to see the macro becaus e you (or at least me ;-)) cannot se those flowers on the second photo without enlarging it and evenm though it's not that obvious

That water is beautiful!
I so can relate to which photo to post. I take twenty, like five, and still can't choose the blog photo. :)

Lovely shots. And yes, blogs can be very time consuming. I've been doing now for two years and have come to a point where my devotion to it is waning. Perhaps just a phase...

It's so interesting, and so complex, this whole interaction between the photos and the story. Often I've taken a shot that appealed at the moment, and then found I couldn't get the words to tell the story I thought I saw. And during the day you think of something to say and then by evening you're too tired and then the next day the moment has passed.

But the great thing is, no-one can tell that we've had this internal monologue of doubt and fatigue going on! I often read your posts and think 'such a great narrative! When did she find the time to put that together??'

I love the colours and movement of the water in the macro shot!

I love those excellent blogs too...but my life is too busy to create one of them! I'm aiming for guilt free blogging that enhances my life...I'm that selfish!!

It's fun work to blog wouldn't you say? You do it well. What a beautiful place. Love the lily pads which I haven't seen in a long time.

LOL! I actually showed two views of the same thing today too. Mine are actually both the SAME picture. One is just a tighter crop from the other... but what a DIFFERENCE it makes!

I wish I had a pond with lily pads near by... We had one in the back yard when I was a child...

I always enjoy your blog, Loran... I even like BOTH pictures. Seeing the close-up shows the water lilies --but seeing the entire thing is also neat.

Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Don't forget..it is YOUR blog, and you can do and say what you want, when you want.
I am about to embark on a 500 mile walk across Spain , walking 5 to 8 hours a day. The best advice I got was from reading a book by Joyce Rupp called "Walk In A Relaxed Manner" the title says it all.
So my advice to you is "Blog in a relaxed manner" ;)
BTW...your blog is always lovely!
Peace and Joy
Rita

Nope, can't tell if you're putting them together in a rush. I know what you mean though, sometimes I have a tough time getting motivated to post, although, normally once I actually download the pics from my camera and get started I get into it. That first pic is amazing! The colors are so rich.

What a fantastic place - wish I were there right now! I see a little spot there, right near the water, where I'd love to sit down for awhile and read.

Love the macro - but I am a macro kinda gal. :) Perspective - can it be circular? I feel I'm running in circles. :)
