Flowers in Coffeen Park

To answer Betsy's question: all four members of our little family got to vacation together this year: Alyson, 20 and Amber, 18 plus husband, Gary and me, old! We started our family late in life but have so enjoyed raising our beautiful, smart, funny girls. Neither one of us can figure out how the time went by so fast but then I know that's not unusual. Gary was raised in Wyoming and lived a completely different lifestyle than I did growing up mostly in the Washington, DC area. (We met in Idaho but that's a different story for another day.)

Gary's family is also quite a bit larger than mine. We decided truly the more the merrier and we had a very merry time. His sister, Jeri, brought her camper up and his other sister, Lauri, stayed in it with her. Jeri's daughter, Vicki, arrived with another camper and her husband, Willy, and three kids, Matt, Hunter and Keira. Jeri's son, Steven, camped in a tent. Cousin Ken and his wife Robin brought their daughter Emma with them as well. Ken's brother, Randy and two sisters, Cathy and Carrie and spouses all stopped by as well. It's been a family tradition for generations to camp in the Big Horns. We are pleased to continue this fine tradition and hope that our kids will too some day. It's a little freaky to be the oldest generation now. When I arrived on the scene 21 years ago, Gary's parents were still alive. We miss them so much now when we are there but they are not; however, it's the circle of life, is it not?

You can drive a truck or motorcycle to Coffeen Park. It's an entrance to the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area. There is no motorized travel allowed on the trail. Imagine my delight when I arrived to see a meadow full of flowers! Check out fabulous flower pictures at Today's Flowers.

Oh Loran, Thanks so much for the updates. Family traditions like that are just so special. I want to rent a big beachhouse someday --and get all of our kids and grands together (to start a new tradition). Don't know when that will happen--but it's my goal or dream.

Thanks again!!!! I do want to know how you and Gary met sometime.. Sounds like a great story.

Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy
